SpotSee® TiltWatch® XTR – The Global Standard in Tilt Monitoring

Indisputable tilt detection for secure shipping. The TiltWatch XTR is the industry benchmark for monitoring goods that must remain upright. This single-use, tamper-proof indicator provides irrefutable evidence if a shipment has been tilted beyond 80° in the plane it monitors, helping you hold carriers accountable and reduce transit damage.

If your chosen pack size is out of stock in the standard range, we may supply the equivalent TiltWatch® XTR QR at the same price. It is identical in activation angle, size and fitting, and adds a scannable digital record. Tell us at checkout if you would rather wait and we will hold your order.

Key Features:

  • Binary Activation: The indicator turns from green to bright red at 80° (±5° from vertical), providing a clear pass/fail status.
  • Vibration-Proof: The patented design ensures the indicator is unaffected by normal handling conditions, random vibrations or aircraft take-offs, preventing false activations.
  • Tamper-Proof: Once activated, the change is permanent and irreversible, providing a secure audit trail.
  • Moisture Resistant: Humidity tolerance of 5% to 99% non-condensing, for humid export conditions.

Technical Handling & FAQ

Where is the best place to mount a tilt indicator?
Always mount the indicator on a rigid part of the packaging, such as the bottom corner of a crate or the heavy-duty side-wall of a carton. This ensures the reading reflects the actual movement of the cargo rather than packaging flex.

How many units come in a pack?
Good Life Innovations Ltd supplies TiltWatch XTR in 10 Packs for small-scale projects and 100 Packs for full-scale industrial use. Each indicator is supplied with a warning notice. Companion labels are available separately, on rolls of 200 and 500.

What is the shelf life?
As an Authorised SpotSee Partner, we supply factory-fresh units. The adhesive has a 2-year shelf life when stored in dry conditions at room temperature before the adhesive liner is removed.

Authorised UK Partner

Supplied by Good Life Innovations Ltd, an authorised UK partner of SpotSee®. We provide 25 years of technical expertise in smart monitoring materials, ensuring your supply chain remains transparent and accountable.

Looking for total protection?

For 360-degree shipment security, we recommend pairing the TiltWatch XTR with ShockWatch 2 Impact Indicators to monitor both orientation and impact events simultaneously.

TiltWatch® XTR – Frequently Asked Questions

What does TiltWatch XTR detect?

TiltWatch XTR detects when a shipment has been tilted beyond 80° in a single plane. It doesn't show the direction or the angle of tilt. Once triggered, the indicator changes from green to red.

How does TiltWatch XTR work?

A steel disc inside a rigid polystyrene housing moves when the package exceeds the activation angle. Once activated, the colour change is permanent and cannot be reset.

Does TiltWatch XTR detect vibration or shock?

No. TiltWatch XTR is designed exclusively for tilt/orientation monitoring. It ignores normal vibration and should be paired with ShockWatch 2 if impact monitoring is required.

Where should TiltWatch XTR be mounted?

Mount the indicator on a rigid, vertical surface such as a crate corner or reinforced carton wall. Avoid flexible packaging surfaces, which can distort readings.

How is it armed?

Removing the adhesive backing arms the indicator, so arming and applying are one action. Hold the indicator upright and keep the package upright as you apply it.

What is the operating temperature?

−40°C to +60°C. Each indicator measures 74.27 × 60.31 × 5.29 mm with a 2 mil high-tack acrylic adhesive.

Does TiltWatch XTR deter mishandling?

Yes. The presence of a TiltWatch indicator significantly reduces the likelihood of a shipment being tilted or overturned, as handlers recognise the device and adjust behaviour accordingly.

What types of goods require tilt monitoring?

TiltWatch XTR is ideal for appliances, machinery, medical equipment, glass panels, electronics, and any product that must remain upright during transit.

Is TiltWatch XTR single-use?

Yes. Once activated, the indicator permanently changes colour, providing a tamper-evident record of tilt events.
