How Level Indicator Strips Work

These innovative strips utilize advanced thermochromic technology to give you a visual representation of the level inside your container. Thermochromic materials change colour in response to temperature variations. This colour change accurately reveals the level of the substance within.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use them:

1. Preparation: Ensure the surface of the container is clean and dry for optimal adhesion. If necessary, wipe the area with a clean cloth to remove any dust or debris.
2. Application: Peel off the protective backing from the strip and carefully apply it vertically to the side of the container. Ensure the strip is in full contact with the surface and free of any air bubbles or creases.
3. Activation: Apply heat to the strip using a hairdryer on a warm setting. Alternatively, you can use very hot (but not boiling) water. Move the heat source back and forth across the strip for a few seconds until you see a distinct colour change.
4. Observation: The strip will change from its initial black colour to a vibrant orange. Once the heat source is removed, a portion of the strip will revert to black, indicating the approximate level of the substance inside. The point where the orange and black sections meet represents the level.

Important Considerations:

• Temperature Sensitivity: The strips are designed to work optimally within a temperature range of 14°C to 40°C (57°F to 104°F). Outside of this range, the colour change may be less pronounced or slower to occur.
• Accuracy: While the strips provide a helpful visual guide, they offer an approximate indication of the level. Factors such as container shape, ambient temperature, and substance type can influence the accuracy of the reading. Always exercise caution and use personal judgment when assessing levels, especially in critical situations.
• Reusability: The strips are designed for multiple uses. However, the adhesive may lose its effectiveness after several applications. If the strip starts to peel, you can secure it with tape or a suitable adhesive.
