Description

Pack Size: 50 Encapsulated Indicators

SpotSee® Thermax Encapsulated Irreversible Temperature Indicators provide a fast, accurate and permanent record of maximum temperature exposure. Each indicator is printed with a single rated temperature. When that temperature is exceeded, the central window permanently darkens, giving clear, tamper-proof evidence that the threshold has been reached.

The compact “end-cap” format is ideal where space is limited or where indicators are exposed to handling, vibration or demanding environments. Typical uses include medical and life-science products, rail and industrial bearings, motors and drives, electronics, and high-performance or motorsport applications where it is essential to verify that critical components have not overheated.

Key Features

  • Single-temperature irreversible indication – clear “go / no-go” result
  • Encapsulated design for robust performance in demanding environments
  • Permanent colour change – cannot be reset or tampered with
  • Small footprint – suitable for curved or confined surfaces
  • Fast response and high accuracy across the full temperature range
  • Self-adhesive backing for easy application
  • Supplied in packs of 50 indicators

How They Work

Each Thermax Encapsulated Indicator contains a sealed, heat-sensitive element behind the printed temperature window. When the surface temperature reaches or exceeds the rated value, the active material melts and migrates, causing the window to darken. This reaction is irreversible – once triggered, the indicator will not return to its original colour.

The indicator therefore records the highest temperature reached at any point during use, storage or transport.

Typical Applications

  • Medical & Life Sciences: sterilisation checks, sutures, sterile packs, instruments and devices.
  • Predictive Maintenance: rail bearings, industrial bearings, rotating equipment and gearboxes.
  • Motorsport & Automotive: brake calipers, shock absorbers, engine components.
  • Electronics: PCBs, assemblies, power supplies and enclosures.
  • Industrial Processes: ovens, chambers, pumps, compressors and QA monitoring.
