Thermochromic Smart Screen-Ink - Changes Colour with Temperature

£12.75

Thermochromic screen ink magically changes colour when certain temperatures are reached.

We have a broad range of activation temperatures to chose from, including for chill, touch, friction and heat.

Thermochromic coatings can be used to obscure hidden layers, such as text, colours or images.

For example:

When you cover a pink piece of fabric or card with thermochromic ink, the thermochromic ink will help hide the colour below. When the thermochromic coating reaches its activation temperature, it will lose its opacity and become translucent, revealing the secret colour below. This magical reaction is called thermochromism.

Thermochromic ink

Black thermochromic ink offers the best opacity.

The available stock colours below can be selected from the drop-down menu at the bottom of this page:

Black  15°C, 27°C, 31°C, 47°C
Red  31°C, 47°C
Blue 15°C, 31°C
Magenta 31°C
Purple 31°C
Magenta 31°C
Yellow 31°C
Green 31°C

When purchasing your thermochromic ink, please make sure you select an activation temperature that is right for you: 15°C is used for chill and reveal, 27°C is normally used for touch, 31°C is used for rub and reveal and 47°C is used for heat applications.

Thermochromic inks are used in a wide range of industries, and this includes beer cans, colour changing t-shirts, mugs, children's books, toys, promotional printing, safety signs, hot warning labels, drink labels, place mats, arts and crafts, and interior design.

Other colours and activation temperatures are available upon request. Please contact us for further information and pricing. The MOQ for custom colours is usually 2 litres.
