BBQ or camping enthusiast? Never get caught out with an empty gas canister again! Our easy-to-use, self adhesive, colour changing self adhesive strip indicates the level of gas (butane or propane), or the level of foam or water in fire extinguishers.
Self adhesive strip can be used a couple of times before it loses it's sticky, although the thrifty among us will get out the prit stick for multiple uses!
This product is best utilized in summer months or when temperatures are between 14 and 40°C. As the key component in this product, Thermochromics distinguish the temperature difference between the area of the gas and the vapour level.
To ascertain how much gas is left, simply place the strip vertically down the side of the gas bottle. Apply heat to the strip using a hair dryer or very hot (not boiling) water. The strip will change from black to bright orange. Once the heat source is removed, a portion of the strip will revert to black. The line created by the difference in colour illustrates where the approximate level of gas is. The colour change is reversible; so this strip can be used multiple times.
The self adhesive GLI strip measures 200 mm x 20 mm wide. It can be cut to length to fit most sizes of canister. Simply peel of the backing and stick towards the bottom of your bottle or wherabouts on your bottle where you would like to know your gas is getting low, it's up to you.
