ShockWatch® L-Series – When to Use the Tube-Based Indicator
ShockWatch® L-Series is one of SpotSee's original tube-based impact indicators. Newer arrangements such as ShockWatch Tube fitted into Clip, MiniClip or Flex housings are now more common, but L-Series remains a sound choice for heavy-duty shipments that need maximum visibility and a robust mounting plate.
What is ShockWatch L-Series?
A self-contained impact indicator built around the same tube technology used across the ShockWatch Tube range, with the tube set into a rigid, high-visibility housing and a large mounting footprint.

The L-Series numbering maps to sensitivity: L-30 corresponds to 100G and L-65 to 25G. If your paperwork specifies an L-number, quote it and we will match it.
When should you use L-Series?
- Maximum visibility is needed to deter rough handling
- Large, flat mounting surfaces are available
- Industrial or heavy equipment is being transported
- Existing processes already specify L-Series in procedures or QA documentation
Because L-Series is a single integrated unit, it is often preferred where simplicity and ruggedness matter more than compact size.
L-Series compared with the ShockWatch Tube range
- L-Series — large, rigid, highly visible, integrated housing
- Tube with Clip — the modern equivalent for large flat surfaces, single or double tube
- Tube with MiniClip — for smaller flat surfaces
- Tube with Flex — for curved or uneven surfaces
All of these use the same tube-based activation, so sensitivity levels stay consistent across the family. These are product-level indicators, fitted to the item itself, rather than the carton-level ShockWatch Label and ShockWatch 2.
