This new label remains green in colour until it reaches 50°C and changes to Red at 50°C and above. New technology is used to demonstrate clearly that surface temperatures are directly monitored and compliant with HSE requirements without the need for the current solutions of locked controls and or radiator covers. The secondary benefits include lower installation and operational costs for heating and easier movement around radiators as they will not have the extra projection of a cover. Hot surfaces Contact with surfaces above 50°C can lead to serious injury. Prolonged contact often occurs because people have fallen and are unable to move, or are trapped by furniture. Incidents often occur in areas where there are low levels of supervision, for example in bedrooms, bathrooms and some communal areas. Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (HSWA), section 3; Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (MHSWR), regulation 3; Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998. Directions for use: Press the label firmly onto a dry, clean and solid surface in a visible position on radiators, pipes etc.
